Integrative Therapist and Counsellor

Integrative Counsellor and Therapist

I am a qualified counsellor and therapist.  I am registered with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and ICO (Information Commissioners Office) and fully insured and have an enhanced DBS check.

Being an integrative counsellor means I am able to offer you, as the client, different approaches based on your needs/wants and goals for therapy.  This includes: Working in a psychodynamic way, exploring early childhood experiences that shape how a client acts in the present and drawing out the unconscious thoughts and feelings that we all have.  Also humanistically, focusing on the potential in all people to grow and change and ultimately flourish in their own way; enabling clients to understand themselves better and support decisions they may make to change and grow.  Finally in a transpersonal way, looking at the spiritual and greater connections between people and in the world.

I believe passionately in the diversity of people and deeply respectful of people's individual experiences.  Where relevant and helpful I believe in bringing any differences between myself and the client into the room and discussing how they may impact the relationship.
In private practice I work predominately with adults.

Ultimately the key foundation for this work is the relationship between myself as a counsellor and the client; building a connection based on trust, non-judgement and open-ness and respect.
